EIGHT YEAR OLD DELTA MAE
Yesterday, our baby girl turned 8 years old! We celebrated her birthday by hosting a Flamingo Themed Pool Party last week, but we kept the fun going all weekend long. We had family members stay overnight on Saturday and the birthday girl was treated with Boston Creme Pancakes first thing in the morning. Then it was on to Altitude Trampoline Park for some family jump time. We took a dip in the neighborhood pool and at her request, had Taco Bell for supper. Finally, we wrapped up the day watching the new Amazon Prime movie, My Spy. (Super cute, btw.)
Honey Chicken, you're beautiful in and out. Happy Birthday! We love you!

FLAMINGO PARTY
At first, I couldn’t decide on a theme for Delta Mae’s birthday party, but after she and I selected an evite that featured two pool floats, one being a donut and one being a flamingo, my choices were narrowed. I loved the possibilities of either of those options, but ended up going with the flamingo theme after I found this amazing balloon garland for $17 bucks!

For the most part, I stuck with pinks, golds, and greens. We served strawberries, watermelon, pineapples, and grapes. I picked up an assorted bag of popcorn from Costco and some freezer pops from Walmart. Not pictured are the three dips that we offered our guests, two from Costco and then I made Squash Dip (it’s delicious, I promise). Each of the girls got a flamingo cup that I found at Party City. And finally, I made a three-tiered cake and twelve cupcakes using store-bought strawberry cake and icing.

After some snacking and pool time, we ordered pizza, sang Happy Birthday, and opened presents.

Since we were limited to reserving our neighborhood pool to only Tuesday or Thursday evening, I was concerned that the party turn-out might not be very good, but Thursday worked just fine! She had 17 buddies hang out with her for an amazing three hours. Our first (definitely not last) pool party was a success. Thanx to all who came and made her feel so special!
