CHARLESTON'S WENTWORTH MANSION

Sunday, December 5, 2021

Last month, Brad and I celebrated our seventeenth wedding anniversary with a road trip to Charleston, South Carolina. Because of the occasion, I wanted to stay somewhere special and I came across the Wentworth Mansion in downtown Charleston. I couldn't pass up the chance to stay in a mansion, so we booked a room months in advance and got to call her home for three nights.

The construction of the four-story 24,000 square foot mansion was completed in 1886 for the Rodgers Family.
The entrance hallway runs the width of the home and is paved with colored English tiles.
The mantel carvings are the work of Emile T. Viett, who carved them on site.
Details, details.
Original Tiffany stained glass can be found throughout the home.
Our room was on the second story and was once a sitting room.
More to come on the places we visited and dined. but we very much enjoyed our stay at the Historic Wentworth. It was so incredibly warm and inviting and full of charm. And the staff was phenomenal.
