WYATT'S BIRTHDAY WEEKEND

Monday, August 1, 2016

Hi! We're back again, after a weekend of fun with the almost birthday boy. We started off the Birthday Weekend Celebrations at The Cheesecake Factory. It was National Cheesecake Day and they were offering half-off cheesecake slices. We had to go in for a treat. Then I pretty much went MIA on social media for the next 48 hours (which quite possibly will become our new norm) but here's what we were up too!

|| Saturday, July 30 ||
First up, donuts for breakfast. #BecauseWeekend #BecauseBirthday #JustBecause

After breakfast, we went to  World of Speed and while we aren't Nascar fans, Wyatt is really into playing racing games on our (very old) XBox. We pass the museum quite often and he had been asking to go, so we did!

A bit too short. =\

Have you seen Disney's Cars?! I knew that "The King" character was voiced by Richard Petty, but I didn't know that the number and car color were the same as well. Again, I'm not a racing fan, but I do love a good Disney movie. =)

And confession here, I kind of like the smell of gasoline but not enough to purchase a candle with the same scent. Still a neat find, though.

Later on Saturday, the boys went out to shoot a 3D bow course but Delta Mae and I stayed at home. And thank goodness we did. They were gone for three hours. I would've been bored out of my mind, but more power to them!

|| Sunday, July 31 ||
Sunday rolled around and we decided to drive the kids over to Astoria, Oregon. We've never visited the city before but thought we'd go have a look. He hit the highlights, I'd say. We rode the Astoria Riverfront Trolley and dined at Silver Salmon Grille while enjoying a tasty beverage from the nearby brewery, Buoy Beer Company. The kids had ice cream at Frite + Scoop and finally, we made the 164-step trek up to the top of the Astoria Column.

It was a full, fun weekend. And now we're only one day away from Wyatt's 7th Birthday! I'm busy catching up with laundry at home, but have to quickly run into town to get some last minute birthday snacks and decor. It's going to be a busy day, but I look forward to it!

Happy Birthday Weekend, Wyatt!
